Hotfoot.ca was started in October 2004 to promote running in Atlantic Canada. They felt an online community was needed to provide Atlantic Canadian runners with a way to share ideas, information, tips, and advice through the use of an online forum and interactive pages.
Even though there are many good sites for race information (Run Nova Scotia, etc), they felt that an area to interact with other runners is just as important. Runners need somewhere to talk about local trails, new equipment, good causes, and much more. Their long term goal is to build a strong online community for Atlantic Canadian runners, bringing together an array of resources pertinent to today's runners.
Hotfoot.ca uses ssCMS to manage their content. They needed a system that would allow others to add content to the site through use of work flow. This way the content goes through an approval process before being published to the live site. Sheer Vision was able to add on a discussion forum to allow visitors to discuss upcoming events, recipes, links, etc.
